In these Club Rules the term ‘Club’ shall mean:- River Lea Anglers Club
In these Rules the term "Member" shall mean:- An individual who is a fully subscribed Member of the Club or Guest of that Member or any individual who has purchased a temporary ‘Day Ticket’ membership’
A. MEMBERSHIP
1(a) All members shall agree to observe and abide to the Rules of the Club.
2(a) A subscription of such amount as the Club Committee may from time to time deem fit shall be paid to the Club by each member.
3(a) All elected Club Committee Members must be members of the Club.
4(a) All persons under the age of seventeen years shall be considered junior members and required to pay subscriptions as shall be determined from time to time by the Club Committee.
B. POSSESSION OF MEMBERSHIP CARD
1(b) Every member shall at all times when fishing Club waters carry a current Club Membership Card and for members aged 13 and over a valid Environment Agency Non-Migratory Trout and Coarse Fishing Licence, and shall produce it on demand to:
· any Club Members or other authorised officials who identifies himself/herself by production of a valid Club Membership Card
· or any authorised Environment Agency officer
· or any person identifying themselves as an official or bailiff of an associated club whilst fishing on their waters
· or any person being an owner or tenant or the authorised representatives of an owner or tenant of land crossed by Club waters or of any adjoining land.
Failure to produce Membership Card
2(b) Any member unable to produce a current Club membership card when requested to do so according to the provisions of the preceding Rule shall advise the Club member or authorised official of their name, address and contact telephone number and cease fishing forthwith. At the discretion of the Club member or authorised official a temporary ‘Day Ticket’ membership (if available) may be issued upon receipt of payment of the relevant fee and fishing may continue. No refunds will be issued in this circumstance.
Lending or Transfer of Membership Card
3(b) No member shall lend or transfer his/her Club membership card to any other person for any purpose.
C. FISHING ON CLUB CONTROLLED WATERS & ASSOCIATED CLUB CONTROLLED WATERS
1(c) Close Season or Temporary Closure of Fishing
Members shall observe the close season where applicable or when Temporary Closure is in place as advised by the Club, Associated Club or other Public Authorities &/or their authorised Contractors.
2(c) Night Fishing
No member shall fish the waters at any time other than between one hour before sunrise and one hour after sunset
3(c) Removal of Fish Stocks · any double or treble hooks, except when fishing for pike or spinning for Perch · multi hook rigs · beach caster type rods · any gaff · any live fish as bait · more than two rods at any time and that any rod used must be under the immediate physical control of the angler
NOTE: for the purpose of this rule the term rod shall be deemed to represent any instrument to which is attached line for the purpose of catching fish and includes poles and whips.
5(c) Prohibited/Restricted Fishing Methods - Club Controlled Waters Fully Subscribed Annual Members may fish lure methods specifically used for catching Pike, Perch or Zander on the sections between Chalk Bridge, Tottenham Marshes to Rammey Marsh Lock between the dates 1st October to 31st March inclusive.
Members fishing for the said species must be in the possession of the following tackle: · large specimen size landing net · suitable sized unhooking mat · long forceps for unhooking purposes (minimum 6 inches)
· 6(c) Landing Nets and Fish Care · Fully Subscribed Annual Members, Guests or Day Ticket Members should at all times have a suitable landing net at hand when fishing and also an unhooking mat when fishing for larger specimen size fish such as pike, carp etc.

8(c) Overhead Power Lines All members must observe and adhere to Warning/Prohibition Notices in regard to OVERHEAD POWERLINES 9(c) Junior Members All junior members under the age of fourteen must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times whilst fishing Club controlled or associated club controlled waters.
D. CONDUCT OF MEMBERS & ASSOCIATES
The reservation of fishing pegs, by the leaving or depositing of fishing tackle or property at the waterside, (except for the placing of peg numbers for a bona fide contest) shall constitute a breach under this Rule. Any member paying for fee’s and/or subscription from the Club by a cheque which is subsequently not met by the bank on which it is drawn, shall be guilty of a breach of this rule and liable for any charge levied on the Club by its Bankers. E. POWERS OF CLUB MEMBERS &/OR AUTHORISED OFFICIALS
· to require any member to produce his Club membership card and Environment Agency Licence · to require any person unable to produce such membership card or Licence to give his name and address and to cease fishing · to direct any member to comply with any of the Club Rules · to carry out and implement such policies and directions as the Club Committee may from time to time decide upon or give and to request and require members to comply with the same
2(e) Any member who shall give to a another member or club authorised official having cause to request it, any incorrect name or address shall be in breach of this Rule. |
ADDITIONAL RULES FOR WOODLANDS LAKE FISHERY & BOXERS LAKE (SUMMARY)
Fishing by permit holder only
For Woodlands Lake, all members must book with River Lea Anglers Club before fishing and should do so at least 24 hours in advance (refer to the EAC Permit booklet for booking officer and contact telephone number). Boxers Lake does not require booking.
No carp or pike to be retained in keepnets. They must be returned to the water immediately (other than minimal time for weighing)
Unhooking mats are compulsory (to ensure fish welfare for carp and pike on hard banks). These can be purchased from angling tackle shops
Ground bait is not allowed. Loose feeding is permitted. Swim feeders are not allowed
No pole fishing from pegs 1 to 15 (Woodlands Lake only)
You may use a maximum of two rods
Barbless hooks only other than pike fishing with a treble hook which should have only one barb
Do not bring tin cans of bottles to the fishery. Baits such as tinned sweetcorn etc. should be stored in your bait box
Bait Bans include boilies, pet food mixers and all nuts
All members are Honorary Bailiffs and expected to challenge any person on the fishery to produce their permit
Authorised bailiffs shall have powers to check that barbless only hooks are being used
Members must make sure that their swim is clear of litter whether it is theirs or not
No fires, barbecues. If listening to a radio you must use earphones
Night fishing is not allowed on Boxers Lake. Night fishing is allowed on Woodlands Lake subject to booking and any junior members must be accompanied by a senior member, parent or guardian
Any member found contravening rules will be asked to leave the fishery and will be reported to his/her club and the Enfield Angling Council for disciplinary hearing, which if found guilty could lead to a ban from the fishery
When angling competitions or club rota is due to take place, the lake will be closed to individual anglers on the allotted day from 00:01am and will not be available for 24 hours (Woodlands Lake only)
You must check car park closing time when entering otherwise your vehicle may be locked in overnight (Woodlands Lake only)
Pike Fishing Rules for Woodlands Lake: October to March only, Barbless treble hooks only other than one barb to retain deadbait, no artificial lures such as spinners or plugs, no live baits. Sea dead baits only, wire traces must be used. No pike fishing on Boxers Lake.
